Who are the Friends and What do they do?

The Friends of Happisburgh school is a parent / carer run group that
Raise funds for the school through events and activities
Provides a platform for parents / carers to support and engage with the school.
Provides an important social networking function for parents in a rural community
The current Friends Committee are ; Chair – Debbie Woolsey, Secretary – Alison Fuller, Treasurer – Jill Siely.

What Fund Raising Events and Activities do the Friends do?

The Friends put on a least 2 major fund raising events and a couple of smaller fund raising and non fund raising activities a year.
In 2013 the Friends put on
Events: a Summer Fete, Winter BBQ, Christmas Fair
Activities Fund Raising: 2 x Bag to School, a Jubilee drawing competition, Harvest Festival tea, Christmas decorations, Cake sales and 2nd hand school uniform sales.
Activities Non Fund Raising: School leavers disco, Tea and cake for new parents, Christmas disco

How are funds spent?

Funds are used to support school activity, in 2013 the Friends funds supported the following.
Free fruit for older children (fruit for younger children funded by government),
School bags for Reception
Swimming Bus
Ice Cream at Christmas Pantomine

How can I get involved / Contact the Friends?

Friends meet once every half term in the Acorns, meetings are open to all.
Meeting and Events are advertised in the school newsletter.
